Hooley, Larry D.
October 1, 1939 - October 28, 2022
Larry D. Hooley, 83, of Goshen passed away Friday, October 28, 2022 at home surrounded by family.
He was born October 1, 1939 in Middlebury to Daniel D. and Bessie P. (Miller) Hooley.
On April 15, 1962 he married Marilynn M. Yoder in Goshen.
She survives along with a son, Gregory D. (Carol Christner) Hooley of Goshen; a grandson, Joshua (Kelly Yoder) Hooley; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Randal Hooley of Middlebury.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three daughters, Colleen Sue, Marcia and Raffaella M. Chantella Hooley; a son, Michael Todd Hooley; five brothers, Harold, Maurice, John, Robert, and Richard Hooley; and three sisters, Marilyn Eicher, Neva Graber, and Carolyn Rodman.
A 1957 graduate of Middlebury High School, Larry attended Waterford Mennonite Church. He did 1W service in Denver from 1959-61. He was a long-time supervisor at Elkhart Products, worked as an inspector for Supreme Corp., and served as an inventory auditor in Phoenix, Arizona.
Larry enjoyed singing, playing guitar, and getting exercise by jogging and playing golf.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 5, 2022 beginning at 9 a.m. prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service at Waterford Mennonite Church, 65975 State Road 15, Goshen. Pastor Deron Bergstresser will officiate.
Burial will follow at Forest Grove Cemetery, Middlebury.

September 19, 1930 - April 17, 2022
David G. Hoover, age 91 of Goshen, IN, passed to meet his Savior at 1:30pm Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022, at his home with some of his family by his side. David was born September 19, 1930 to William Paul and Myrtle (Good) Hoover in Goshen, IN. He accepted Christ as his Savior in his youth and was a member of the Yellow Creek Wisler Mennonite Church. He married Miriam S. Martin on April 5, 1953. They celebrated 68 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on October 15, 2021.
Mr. Hoover is survived by his 11 children: Luke (Melba) Hoover of New Paris, IN, Ray (Jeanie) Hoover of Stratford, WI, James (Jerra) Hoover of Wakarusa, IN, Jason (Donna) Hoover of Goshen, IN, Herbert (Emily) Hoover of Goshen, IN, Janice (David) Weaver of Unity, WI, Vera (Kevin) Yoder of Crawford, MS, Rachel (Darrell) Ramer of Cazenovia, WI, Edith (Gene) Martin of Sauk Centre, MN, Mary (Myron) Bontrager of Taylorsville, MS and Doreen (Devon) Zimmerman of Claypool, IN; 68 grandchildren; 178 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Clarence (Lauretta) Hoover of Goshen; and 2 sisters, May (Ted) Bemiller of Osceola, IN and Rhoda Martin of Nappanee, IN.
Mr. Hoover was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; daughter in law, Elsie Hoover; 2 grandsons; 6 great grandchildren; and 2 brothers.
Friends and family may call from 1-4pm and 6-8pm on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at the Ramer Mennonite Youth Center (24717 Co Rd 44, Nappanee, IN 46550). Funeral services will be held at 10am on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Yellow Creek Wisler Mennonite Church. Burial will follow in the Yellow Creek Wisler Mennonite Cemetery. Hoover, Elmer W.
November 13, 1928 - August 12, 2022
Elmer W. Hoover, 93, of Ephrata, died Saturday, August 12, 2022, at Fairmount Homes. His wife of 71 years, Vera Z. (Sensenig) Hoover, survives.
Born in Earl Twp., he was the son of the late Daniel and Lydia (Weaver) Hoover.
Elmer had been a farmer and also delivered furniture for Sensenig's Furniture. He was a member of South Hinkletown Mennonite Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children: Irvin S. married to Anna (Burkholder) Hoover, Ephrata, Geraldine married to Paul Zimmerman, Bernville, Vera Jane Hoover, Ephrata, Wilmer married to Lena (Horst) Hoover, Ephrata, Clifford Hoover, Mifflin, 15 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two stillborn grandsons, a brother Earl Hoover, and two sisters, Eva Jane Hoover and Julia Mumma.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. at South Hinkletown Mennonite Church with Bishop Amos G. Martin, Harlan Martin, E. Merle Nolt, and Roy Sensenig officiating. Esther H. Hoover, 82, of New Holland, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Noah and Emma (Hoover) Garman. She was a member of South Fairmount Church (Groffdale Conference).
Esther is survived by her husband, Franklin N. Hoover; nine children, Anna Mary, wife of Henry Burkholder, Linda, wife of Carl E. Harvey R. Hoover, 76, of 75 E. Farmersville Road, Ephrata, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Lancaster General Hospital. He was married 53 years to Annie B. Shirk Hoover. Born in Bareville, he was the son of the late Norman N. and Mary N. Reiff Hoover. Harvey had been a farmer and was a member of the Groffdale Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.
Surviving besides his wife are four sons, James husband of Mary Jane Hoover of Elma, IA, Noah husband of Susan Hoover of Ephrata, Harvey husband of Louise Hoover of Leola, and Lester husband of Erma Hoover of Lititz; four daughters, Annetta wife of Harlan Nolt of Riceville, IA, Reba wife of Daniel Zimmerman of Orchard, IA, Ethel wife of Melvin Martin of Pembroke, KY and Ida Ann Hoover at home; 44 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; two brothers, Norman husband of Esther Hoover of Leola, and Paul husband of Vera Hoover of Leola; four sisters, Frances Martin of Ephrata, Esther wife of Marvin Zimmerman of Denver, Mary wife of David Zimmerman of East Earl, and Alta wife of Paul Zimmerman of Shippensburg; a sister-in-law, Esther Hoover of Ephrata.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Ellen and Naomi Hoover, by sisters, Martha Nolt and Anna Zimmerman, by brothers, Aaron Hoover and John Hoover, by brothers-in-law, Aaron Nolt, Ben Zimmerman, and Harvey Martin, and by a sister-in-law Vera Hoover.

Lydia L. Hoover, 77, of 885 Churchtown Rd., Narvon, died on Monday, July 18, 2022, at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Weaver W. Hoover, in 2001.
Born in East Earl, she was the daughter of the late Joseph N. and Mabel W. (Leid) Hoover.
She was a homemaker and a member of Churchtown Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.
Surviving are four children: Irene M. married to Cleason Newswanger, Rock Stream, NY, James J. married to Susan (Newswanger) Hoover, Dundee, NY, Wilmer R. married to Susan (Horning) Hoover, Penn Yan, NY, Nelson L. married to Vera (Hoover) Hoover, Narvon, 24 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and six siblings: Lizzie married to Gottfried Laube, Wheeling, WV, Edith married to Milton Hurst, Penn Yan, NY, Alta married to Howard Robin, New Holland, Rebecca married to Leon Horning, East Earl, Mabel married to George Zimmerman, Rushville, NY, and Edward married to Suzanne Hoover, Elkton, KY.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan E. Hoover.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, July 25, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. at Churchtown Mennonite Church with Bishop Titus Martin officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Mary Elizabeth Hoover, 71, of East Earl, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at home.
She was born in Ephrata to the late Menno W. and Lizzie N. (Martin) Hoover.
She was a member of Groffdale Mennonite Church (Weaverland Conf.).
Mary worked in produce for Shady Maple for 46 years..
Mary is survived by two brothers, Clarence M., husband of Elsie (Horst) Hoover of New Holland, Raymond M., husband of Verna (Horst) Hoover of Ephrata, and several nieces and nephews.

Menno (Zimmerman) Hoover, 91, Ephrata, PA born February 10, 1931, died September 28, 2022 at Lincoln Christian Home. He was the husband of the late Martha (Weaver) Hoover. Menno and Martha shared 70 years of marriage on June 2, 2021.
He was a member of Goodville Mennonite Church, Goodville, PA. Menno retired from Sperry New Holland in 1991 and was a farmer who enjoyed working on steam engines and trains. He was the son of the late Noah and Magdalina (Zimmerman) Hoover.
He is survived by five sons Walter, Pittsburgh, PA, Wilmer (Deborah), New Holland, PA, Jerry, Lancaster, SC, Joe (Sandy), Wooster, Ohio, Roy (Mary Joy), New Holland, PA, and four daughters, Lavina, wife of Calvin Yoder, New Holland, PA, Martha Jane, wife of Carl Zimmerman, Lititz, PA, Elva, wife of Larry Martin, New Holland, PA, Mary Kathryn, wife of Daryl Martin, Lititz, PA, and 20 grandchildren; Jackie, Amanda, Nicholas, Aaron, Krista, Heidi, Dorothy, Becky, Amy, Audrey, Nate, Natalie, Jessica, Tonya, Jol, Mindy, Rachel, Joel, Rebecca, Julia; 26 great-grandchildren and 1 sister, Martha, wife of the late Amos S. Phebe L. Hoover, age 51 years, 11 days; of Penn Yan, N.Y .was called home to join our Lord & Savior on Sunday (December 25, 2022) following a battle with cancer.

Phebe was born December 14, 1971 in Denver, Pa., to Titus H. and Sara H. (Leid) Nolt. On October 31, 1991 she married Eugene Z. Hoover; and together founded Windy Acres Farm. Mrs. Hoover was a member of the Old Order Groffdale Conference – Gravel Run Mennonite Church.
She is survived by her husband Eugene Z. Hoover; 13 children, Nathaniel (Ruth Ann) Hoover, Aaron Eugene (Susan) Hoover both of Penn Yan, Rosetta (Mark) Leid of Watkins Glen, N.Y., Dorcas (Paul) Sensenig of Malone, N.Y., Anthony (Lucinda) Hoover of Dundee, and still at home, Jane, Julie, Glenn, Timothy, Ruth Elaine, Amy, Luke, and Darlene Hoover; 7 grandchildren.
Additionally, she is survived by her parents, Titus & Sara Nolt of Penn Yan; 10 brothers and 4 sisters all of New York.
Also grieving the loss of their daughter in-law are Ivan & Barbara Hoover and family, all of New York; and numerous aunts, uncles & cousins.

Hoover, Ruth L. Martin
October 24, 1944 - May 11, 2022
Ruth L. Hoover, 77, of New Oxford, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday evening, May 11, 2022, at Elizabethtown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Clay Twp., Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Mattie (Landis) and Levi Martin. Ruth was married to the love of her life, Clair L. Hoover, Sr., to whom she was married for 58 years on April 20th.
Ruth was a hard worker her entire life and spent her time as an office manager for family businesses. She was an avid flower gardener, planting, growing, arranging and delivering bouquets to family and friends. You could always find Ruth "out digging in the dirt." Ruth enjoyed traveling around the States with Clair in their motorhome. She also enjoyed playing games, eating out, and attending bluegrass festivals. Most of all, Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her husband, Clair, she is survived by her four children, Clair Hoover, Jr., husband of Bonnie, of Manheim, Ruthie Moyer, wife of Kevin, of Montana, Joy Fellenbaum, wife of Kevin, of Columbia, and Lamar Hoover, husband of Andrea, of Middletown; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; and one brother, Paul Martin, of Ohio. Ruth was preceded in death by four siblings, Mildred Brubaker, John, Mary, and Earl Martin.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday morning, May 26, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Groffdale Mennonite Church, 168 North Groffdale Rd., Leola, PA 17540. Interment will take place in the adjoining cemetery immediately following the service. The family will receive guests for a time of viewing on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. September 24, 1935 - March 21, 2022
Sarah Z. Hoover, age 86, of Versailles, Missouri, passed away Monday, March 21, 2022 at home. She was born September 24, 1935 in Terre Hill, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Barton and Lydia Horst.
She was married to Elam Hoover on March 20, 1958. He preceded her in death on June 3, 1995.
Sarah was a member of Excelsior Mennonite Church.
She is survived by four sons, Lewis H. Hoover (Esther) of Latham, Stephen H. Hoover (Kristin) of Versailles, Timothy H. Hoover (Lois) of Barnett and Elam Eugene Hoover (Tammy) of Versailles; four daughters, Verna Brubacker (Isaac) of Versailles, Rachel Newswanger (James) of Latham, Ellen Zimmerman (Philip) of Versailles and Christine Rohrer (Kevin) of Versailles; forty-seven grandchildren; seventy-five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Melvin Horst, Edwin Horst and James Horst and five sisters, Florence Kulp, Ida Martin, Ella Horning, Laura Zimmerman and Miriam Garman.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Elaine Zimmerman (Nathan); one brother, Amos Horst and three sisters, Vera Fox, Elsie Weaver and Lydia Ann Ramer.
Services will be held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Clearview Mennonite Church. Burial will be in Clearview Mennonite Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the family home.

Sarah Z. Hoover, 83, of 2802 Division Highway, New Holland, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 4, 2022, at home.
She was the wife of Rufus Hoover. She was born in Terre Hill to the late Phares and Sarah (Zimmerman) Martin.
She was a member of Fariview Mennonite Church in Kentucky.

Vera M. Hoover, 86, of Richland, PA passed away on Monday September 26, 2022 at the Richland Christian Home, Richland, PA. Vera was born in East Earl Township, Lancaster County on September 23, 1936 the daughter of the late Harvey S. and Elizabeth G. (Martin) Hoover.
Vera was employed by Binner’s Associates in Schaefferstown for many years. She was a member of the Fairview Mennonite Church of the Weaverland Conference.
She is survived by nephews; Curvin Hoover, Nelson Hoover, nieces; Ruth Ann Hoover, Mary Jane Martin, 18 great nieces and nephews, and 14 great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her brother Melvin Hoover, her sister Anna Mae Hoover, 3 infant siblings; Mary, Wilmer and Raymond Hoover and nephew Melvin M. Hoover Jr.
A viewing will be held at the Fairview Mennonite Church 111 Elco Drive Myerstown, PA on Sunday October 2, 2022 from 5:00pm-8:00pm. Vera Z. Hoover, 80, of Leola, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2022, at Welsh Mountain Home.
She was born in East Earl to the late Abram and Anna Mary (Zimmerman) Redcay and was the wife of the late Harry F. Hoover.
She was a member of Martindale Mennonite Church.
Vera worked in housekeeping for Landis Homes. She enjoyed caring for her flowers and taking walks.
Vera is survived by ten siblings, Irvin Z., husband of Shirlene Redcay, Irene Z. Redcay, Nora, wife of Leroy Weaver, Lloyd, husband of Arlene Redcay, Verna Z., wife of Mervin Martin, Laura, wife of Lloyd Reiff, Allen, wife of Julie Redcay, Carl, husband of Deb Redcay, Ruth, wife of Mahlon Horst, and Elvin, husband of Regina Redcay.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Mae Nagle and brother-in-law, Don Nagle.

Horning, Carol F. Groff

Carol F. Horning, 75, of New Holland, died on January 31, 2022 at Maple Farm Nursing Center in Akron, PA, where she resided since early January after a several month struggle with cancer.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Lester W. and Mildred Wenger Groff. Carol was the wife of Donald M. Horning, with whom she celebrated their 56th anniversary in the Fall of last year.
Carol stretched the expectations of her upbringing by pursuing college and graduate school while her children were still in school, commiserating along with them about teachers, tests and grades. The faith of her family shaped a life filled with music. As a teen, she and two friends formed the Teen Tones trio, performing at Youth For Christ events in the early 1960s and later with her daughter, Jeané at church, weddings and other events. She taught her own children and many others the love of singing by leading the children’s choir at Neffsville Mennonite Church, where she was a member since her teens.
Carol is remembered for her generous spirit, the joy she derived from giving gifts, and her classy wardrobe. Her understated confidence made an impression on many friends and colleagues. A well-rounded athlete, she was competitive in golf and tennis until the onset of her illness last summer. Her many friendships, some from childhood and others just recently formed, demonstrated the special attraction that all who got to know her felt.
A graduate of Millersville University (B.A. and M.S.), she pursued a career in counseling, walking alongside many clients as they faced the challenges of life. Her passion to help her clients extended up to the time she entered the hospital in early November, arranging for them to get the care they needed from another counselor.
She is survived by her husband Don, son Chad M. Horning (Michelle) of Goshen, IN, and daughter Jeané D. Hershey (Lyle) of Brownstown, PA, brother Lynn J. Groff (Dorothy L.) of Dauphin, PA. Preceding her in death are her parents and sisters Joan Amand (Lowell) and Lucille G. Huber (John R. (Jack)). Carol was adored by her four grandchildren Marshall and Annika Hershey, and Dylan and Eva Horning.
The family thanks all the staff of Hospice and Community Care and Maple Farm Nursing Center for the loving care provided to Carol during the last weeks of her life.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on March 5 at Neffsville Mennonite Church, 2371 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, with a visitation to follow. The family asks you to consider wearing a mask as a gesture of goodwill and compassion for all who attend.

Etta S. Horning, 92, of Ephrata, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at Lincoln Christian Home.
She was born in East Earl to the late Enos and Fannie (Snyder) Weaver and was the wife of the late Edwin Z. Horning who passed away in July 2020.
She was a member of Meadow Valley Mennonite Church.
Etta was a homemaker.
Etta is survived by four children, Raymond W., husband of Janice (Hurst) Horning of Akron, Lester W., husband of Rose Ann (Sensenig) Horning of Ephrata, Edwin, Jr., husband of Nancy (Sensenig) Horning of Ephrata, Arlene W., wife of John M. Hurst of Lititz; 18 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Aaron (Martha) Weaver, and a sister, Esther (Samuel) Horst.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by seven siblings, Lizzie (Eli) Wenger, Mary (Amory) Hoover, Anna (Ivan) Nolt, Mabel (Michael) Horning, Raymond (Thelma) Weaver, Joseph Weaver, and Nora (Raymond) Hurst.

Richland - Michael Z. Horning, 91, of the Richland Christian Home, entered his heavenly home on Friday, January 7, 2022, passing away in the Wellspan Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon, PA. He was the husband of the late Mabel S. Weaver Horning and the late Minnie H. Kurtz Martin Horning. He was born in Brecknock Township, Lancaster County on January 11, 1930, son of the late Banks M. and Anna E. Zimmerman Horning.
Michael was founder and owner of Horning's Table and Chair Shop. He was a member of Swatara Mennonite Church, Myerstown and was known as a scribe for "Budget" Newspaper in Sugar Creek, OH for over 45 years.

Sarah N. Horning, 94, formerly of New Holland, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Anna and Aaron Martin of East Earl, following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Eli Horning who died in 1999. Born in East Earl, she was the daughter of the late Aaron Z. and Lizzie B. Nolt Zimmerman.
Sarah was a homemaker and a member of the Groffdale Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.

Anna W. Horst, 92, of Leola, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 9, 2022. She was the wife of Eli H. Horst, with whom she shared seventy-one years of marriage until his death on July 1, 2021.
Born in Brecknock Twp., she was the daughter of the late Aaron G. and Hannah (Good) Wise.
She was a homemaker and a member of Pequea Mennonite Church.
She is survived by seven children: Lorraine, wife of Lloyd High of Myerstown, Leonard, husband of Marian (Zimmerman) of Ephrata, Anna Ruth of Leola, Pauline, wife of the late John Martin of New Holland, Melvin, husband of Marie (Weaver) of Lititz, Joanne, wife of Titus Gehman of Newburg, and Doris, wife of Lamar Martin of Leola; thirty-one grandchildren; eighty great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and a brother, Alvin, married to Anna Mae Wise, Ephrata.

Beatrice Elizabeth Horst, 94, of Dayton, passed away Thursday, Nov. 10, 2022. She was born July 20, 1928, in Williamsport, Md., and was a daughter of the late Walter and Viola (Charlton) Garrett.
She was a member of Bank Mennonite Church in Dayton.
Beatrice was united in marriage on Jan. 1, 1948, to Henry Kuhns Horst, who preceded her in death in 2010.
Beatrice is survived by five children, Mildred Ranck and husband, Ken, of Mount Crawford, Linda Weaver and husband, Cleo, of West Palm Beach, Fla., Lois Knicely and husband, Marion, of Mount Clinton, Jerry Horst and wife, Diane, of Rockingham, and Nathan Horst and wife, Phyllis, of Weyers Cave; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is also preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Horst, and sisters, Pauline Hege, Betty Hege, and Evelyn Bauman.

Betty Louise Horst, 90, a resident of 5444 Swope Road, Dayton, VA, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2022, at her home.
Mrs. Horst was born on January 8, 1932, in Dayton, VA, and was a daughter of the late Samuel Lee and Ella Amelia Rohrer Rhodes. She was a homemaker and a member of Riverdale Old Order Mennonite Church.
On January 8, 1976, she married Mark Rhodes Horst, who preceded her in death on February 3, 2012.
Mrs. Horst is survived by her siblings, Homer Rhodes, Edna Martin and husband Clark, Charles Rhodes and wife Janice; a sister-in-law, Joyce Rhodes; and brothers-in-law, Joseph Beery, and Leon Burkholder and wife Edith.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Horst was preceded in death by her siblings, Anna Ruth Showalter and husband Joseph, Roy Rhodes and wife Wilda Grace, Wilda Beery, Edwin Rhodes and wife Irene, Marvin Rhodes and wife Naomi, Lena Witmer and husband Daniel, Joseph Rhodes and wife Bonnie, and Eva Burkholder.

Horst, Lloyd Rutt
March 15, 1929 - November 24, 2022
Lloyd Rutt Horst, 93, went to his home in Glory on November 24, 2022. Born on March 15, 1929 in East Earl, PA to Harry S. Horst and Elizabeth Rutt Horst. On January 4, 1950 he was married to Elverta J. Hostetter of Gap, PA.
Lloyd was chosen by lot to become a pastor at the age of 27. He was ordained into ministry on December 26, 1956. His years of ministry included 13 years at Hartman Street Mennonite, York, PA; 12 years at Slate Hill Mennonite, Camp Hill, PA; 6 years at Faith Mennonite, Oxford, NJ; and 4 years at Crest Hill Mennonite, Wardensville, WV. He officially retired from the ministry in June 1995 after 38 years of faithful service.
Lloyd and Elverta had eight children: Mervin D. Horst married to Lois Brubaker, Fort Mill, SC; Darrel D. Horst married to Teena Enterline, York, PA; Gerald L. Horst married to Leona Rondeau (deceased), York, PA; Susie K. Kanagy married to Arlen Kanagy, Lenoir, NC; Laverne R. Horst married to Joan Shellehamer, Dillsburg, PA; Judy F. Peterson married to Michael Peterson, Nappanee, IN; Mary J. Leaman married to Paul Leaman, Harrisonburg, VA; and H. Steven Horst married to Brenda Lantzy, Landisville, PA. Lloyd had a total of 26 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren.
Lloyd had a green thumb and enjoyed sharing his abundance with others! He provided for his family by working various jobs. Family memories of working together include helping him in the garden, preparing the chicken house for new chicks and then catching grown chickens for transport, the cleaning of various businesses, and a few of the children even remember him as their school bus driver. Lloyd and Elverta poured their love and service into their family, the church, and everyone they met. The family will miss their presence, love, and humor, but it was always their greatest desire to be at home with their Lord and Savior. To God be the Glory!
Preceding him in death were his wife, Elverta; his sister, Edith Hollinger and her husband, Lloyd; and his brother, Roy Horst. He is survived by his foster sister, June Forry of Cary, NC.

Logan Scott Horst, infant son of Andy and LuAnn Horst of Dalton, was stillborn on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Aultman Orrville Hospital.
Lovingly missed by his parents; 4 brothers, Bradlyn, Jaran, Adrian and Kory; 2 sisters, Kaitlyn and Tonya, all of the home; grandparents, Roger and Joanne Eberly and Lola Horst, all of Dalton; great grandparents, Peter and RetaSteckle of Zurich, Ont. and Luella Eberly of Dalton; and numerous aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandpa, Ben Horst; all four paternal great parents; and maternal great grandpa, Clarence Eberly; and one uncle, Darrick Eberly.

Lowell Horst, age 79, of Hummelstown, PA, formerly of Elizabethtown, passed away on February 6, 2022, at his home with his family by his side. Lowell was born on May 8, 1942, in Maugansville, MD and was the son of the late Benjamin B. Horst and the late Martha (Lehman) Horst. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Carolyn M. (Longenecker) Horst. Also surviving are his children, H. Paul W. Horst, (Cindy), Elaine C. Shenk, (Douglas), and Tina N. Maxwell (Oliver). Also surviving is a brother, Glenn R. Horst and is predeceased by siblings; Sarah Martin, Mary Horst, Nevin Horst, Lauren Horst, Maurice Horst and David Amos Horst. He is also survived by six grandchildren; Jamila, André, Emanuel (Manny), Zachary, Natty, and Alia and two great-grandchildren, Jensen and Kaia. Lowell was a member of Hope Community Church in Mount Joy.
Lowell was a retired contractor of many years and when driving around often commented on the houses he built in that area. He had two businesses, Ellor Enterprises (1974-1983) and Laurel Homes (1983-1996) and retired as a warranty analyst for American-e Builder. Lowell was a Godly man, and he lived a life of service to family, friends and community. He lived out his faith by volunteering for mission trips and helping others with his handyman skills. Lowell enjoyed woodworking and making furniture for his family. He loved to sing and could be heard with a melody on his lips throughout the day. He is remembered for conducting the Elizabethtown Mennonite Chorus. Lowell loved spending time with his family - family vacations, holidays, summer cookouts, trail riding on his ATV, and playing in the snow. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Hope Community Church, 1806 Harrisburg Avenue, Mount Joy, PA 17552. She was married 60 years to Milton Z. Horst. Born in Ephrata, she was the daughter of the late Phares M. and Anna Mary Burkholder Weaver.
Lydia was a homemaker and a member of the Spring Grove Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.

Mervin E. Horst, 61, of New York, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022 of natural causes. Born in Dover, NJ, he was the son of Florence Mae Zimmerman Horst of Landis Homes and the late Eugene H. Horst.
Merv graduated from Lancaster Mennonite High School and Goshen College. He then moved to Manhattan and made his home there for the last 38 years. His interests included reading, family history, genealogy, the German language, sacred hymns, cooking, knitting, and exploring The Big Apple. He found great joy in connecting to various faith communities through modern technology. Merv was a longtime member of Manhattan Mennonite Fellowship. At the time of his passing, he was employed as a derivatives paralegal.
Surviving in addition to his mother are: his sister, Cynthia; four nieces; and two great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his brother, Darryl.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Merv’s funeral service from the James Street Mennonite Church, 323 W. Tonya Jolyn Horst, 5 year old daughter of Andy and LuAnn Horst of Dalton, died on Saturday, October 8, 2022 from injuries sustained at an accident at her home
She was born in Mount Eaton on January 18, 2017.
She is lovingly missed by her parents; 4 brothers, Bradlyn, Jaron, Adrian and Kory; her only dear sister, Kaitlyn, all of the home; grandparents, Lola Horst and Roger and Joanne Eberly, all of Dalton; great grandparents, Peter and Reta Steckle of Zurich, Ont. and Luella Eberly of Dalton; and numerous loving aunts and uncles and many little cousins.
She was preceded in death by her dear infant brother, Logan on January 4, 2022; her paternal grandpa, Ben Horst; all four paternal great parents; and maternal great grandpa, Clarence Eberly; and one uncle, Darrick Eberly.
She was our cheerful sunbeam and our little songbird. Since the disappointment of losing her baby brother, she had a deep longing to go to heaven and had many long hours discussing heaven and singing songs of heaven, many of which she made up on her own. She will be greatly missed by all.
Services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 am at the East Union Mennonite Church, 10678 Old Lincoln Way, Orrville. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 1-4 and 6-8 pm at the East Union Mennonite Church. Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton is handling the arrangements.
Horst, Trenton Bruce
September 7, 1990 - April 22, 2022
Trenton Bruce Horst, 31 years, 7 months, and 15 days, went to his forever home to be with his Lord on April 22, 2022, as a result of a work-related accident.
Trent was born on Sept. 7, 1990, in Massillon, OH. He was 2 weeks old when he moved with his family to northwest PA where they lived for 9 ½ years. In 2000 the family moved to Grand Junction, CO.
Trent married the love of his life on Oct. 22, 2016. They resided in Wendell, where he was a member of the Sonlight Bible Fellowship.
Trent had some rough situations in his life but did not allow those circumstances to prevent him from being strong and victorious.
Trent was a very positive person, seeing good in others. He was trustworthy and a good counselor, offering good advice and help for a given issue or problem. A very analytical person, he was good at sensing needs and following through. Children loved him. He had a sense of humor, drawing people to him with his ready wit. His strong drive to go forward in any given facet made him a hero to many.
Trent can now enjoy heaven’s marvels with his son Tyrell who left earth’s confines before ever seeing his dad and mom. He also joins his sister Amber who left earth at nearly 2 years old and he was 10 months old. Also missing from family ranks are Grandpa Leonard Horst and Uncle Sam Horst.
Trent is survived by his beloved wife, Rosalyn. Also surviving are his parents David and Regina (Hege) Horst of Loma, CO, siblings Twilight (Ed) Weaver of Grand Junction, CO, Cheyenne Horst of Gillette, WY, DeLayne Horst of Loma, CO, Allysum (Tim) Showalter of Grand Junction, CO, Autumn Rose (Jarin) Crisenberry of Grand Junction, CO, maternal grandparents Harold and Wilda Hege, paternal grandmother Eva Jane Horst, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family is so appreciative for the tremendous outpouring of support they have felt from so many friends, and the myriad of prayers offered on their behalf. Please continue to pray for the family, especially Kita in this time of overwhelming grief. May we all make heaven our Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at 10:30 am at the Valley View Mennonite Church in Filer (3925 N 1900 E). Burial will follow at the Wendell Cemetery at 3:30. Arrangements are under the care of Demaray's Jerome Memorial Chapel.
Hostetler, J. Willard "Willie"
February 14, 1934 - November 27, 2022
J. Willard "Willie" Hostetler, age 88, of Orrville, died Sunday, November 27, 2022, at his residence in Orrville, following a period of declining health.
Willie was born on February 14, 1934, in Orrville, to the late David and Ada (Rohrer) Hostetler and attended Orrville High School. He married Kay Hochstetler on August 5, 1956, in Walnut Creek. Kay survives.
He owned and operated Willie's Engine Service for 31 years, retiring in 2018.
Willy was an active member of Oak Grove Mennonite Church. He loved his work, enjoyed entertaining especially barbecuing and enjoyed spending time with extended family and friends.
In addition to Kay, Willie is survived by three daughters, Jill (Doug) Mitchell of Bumpass, VA, Amy (Joseph) Spinelli of Marshallville, and Lori (David) Kindle of Terrell, NC; three grandchildren, Eric (Brooke) Mitchell of Puerto Rico, Megan (Kyle) Marcum of Manassas, VA, and Thomas (Audrey) Mitchell of Virginia Beach, VA; four great grandchildren, Waverly and Reef Mitchell, and Alex and Taylor Marcum.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Kandel.
Friends may call on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

Hostetler, Jeremy Lynn
July 17, 1993-October 22, 2022
Jeremy Lynn Hostetler, son of Nelson and Lynette Hostetler was born on July 17, 1993 at Princeton, IL.
He peacefully passed away at his home near Tampico, IL on Oct. 22, 2022 with his parents and the family gathered around him, at the age of 29 years, 3 months, and 5 days.
He leaves to mourn his departure his sorrowing parents, 3 brothers, Austin and wife Gwen, Cody and wife Denise, and Darin 18, of the home. 5 sisters, Jessica and husband Raylan Miller, Beverly and husband Nelson Kropf, Staci and husband Leland Hostetler, Alaina 14, and Alyssa 12, of the home. 8 nephews, Jordan, Tyrelle, Corbyn, Brock, Travett, Chase, Jackson, and Dawson. 2 nieces, Jolyn and Alexa. Also, his grandma Barbara Hostetler, 7 uncles, 10 aunts, and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents John and Mary Lou Hostetler and grandpa Wayne Hostetler. One uncle Dale Hostetler, one aunt Susie Hostetler, and 7 cousins.
Jeremy was one of God's special children requiring complete care. His mother, with loving dedication, took care of his many needs these 29 years. His pop, brothers, and sisters tenderly sharing in his care. His special smile would fill our hearts with love. After a 'not so good' day he would brighten up when pop came home and used his own special touch. We remember his sweet giggles as he watched his nieces and nephews at play. How they loved to give him a drink with his sippy cup!
Jeremy endured several surgeries and hospital stays. Pop & mom did all they could for his health and comforts, recently taking him to Mexico for treatment and he responded quite well for a few months. Our loss is his gain. His twisted body is now made perfect, and he is safe in Jesus' care. He will be greatly missed by all in the home.
Visitation will be Tuesday October 25, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Fairfield Amish Menonite School, Tampico. The funeral will follow on Wednesday at 10 AM at the Fairfield Amish Mennotie Church. Burial will conclude at the cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Garland Funeral Home, Tampico.
Hostetler, M. Lorene Eash
September 4, 1928 - May 16, 2022
M. Lorene Hostetler, 93, of Goshen, died Monday, May 16, 2022 at Goshen Hospital.
She was born September 4, 1928 in Millersburg to Daniel and Susie (Chupp) Eash.
On November 12, 1949 she married Loren R. Hostetler in Middlebury. He died January, 9, 2000.
Survivors include four children, Miriam Hostetler of Blackey, Kentucky, Martha (Jake) McCartney of Leon, West Virginia, Wayne Hostetler of Elkhart, and Mark Hostetler of Goshen; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four step-great grandchildren; and a sister, Vera Igou of Littleton, Colorado.
Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Kathleen Crawford, and Mabel Yoder; brothers, Ora and Orvin Eash; and a daughter-in-law, Pam Hostetler.
A life-long area resident, Mrs. Hostetler was a skilled seamstress. She retired from Gohn Brothers in Middlebury, where she made Amish clothing. She enjoyed quilting, jigsaw and word puzzles, and time with family.
Lorene was a member of LifePoint Church, Goshen, and a devout Christian.
Friends may call Friday, May 20, 2022 from 10 a.m. until the 12 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen.
Burial will follow at Miller 8 Square Cemetery, Goshen.

Hostetler, Magdalena Catherine "Lena" Hostetler
February 1, 1931 - October 2, 2022
Magdalena Catherine Hostetler, of Otterville, peacefully passed away at her home on Sunday, October 2, 2022, at the age of 91 years, 8 months, and one day.
Mrs. Hostetler was born on February 1, 1931, at Shelbyville, Illinois, to Amandus and Cora Hostetler.
On April 9, 1950, she was united in marriage to Lester Hostetler. They were married for over 67 years and were blessed with ten children.
She is survived by nine of her children: Larry and wife Susie, Darlene and husband Douglas Christner, Raymond and wife Ruth Ann, Judith and husband Lester Kempf, all of the Pocahontas, Arkansas, community; Marvin and wife Viola, Delbert and wife Kathy, Corene and husband Luke Knox, Marion and wife Alice, all of the Sedalia, Missouri, community; Emily and husband Frank Kempf of Mena, Arkansas. She is also survived by 65 grandchildren, 194 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and one sister.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lester on July 7, 2017, and 42 years ago on October 1, 1980, her daughter Lyla was killed in a car accident. Also preceding her in death are one daughter-in-law, 3 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hostetler was a member of the Olive Hill Amish Mennonite Church. She was blessed with fairly good health up to the time of her stroke, (less than two weeks prior to her death) and was still able to attend regularly.
Lena was a very sweet lady; one who was always thinking of others. She enjoyed helping her children and grandchildren with their work. At one time, she regularly volunteered at Open Door Thrift Shop.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at Olive Hill A.M. School.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at Olive Hill A.M. Church.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Hostetler, Mervin D.
September 5, 1933 - November 12, 2022
Mervin D. Hostetler, 89, of Topeka, died at 8:10 pm on Saturday, November 12, [2022] at his residence. He was born on September 5, 1933 in LaGrange County to Amos and Thersa (Hooley) Hostetler. Merv graduated from Shipshewana High School in 1951.
He completed alternative military service at the Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan during the Korean War. On October 23, 1955 he was married to Margaret Ann Miller at Emma Mennonite Church, Topeka, she survives. A lifetime member of the Emma Church congregation, Merv served as an Elder, a Sunday school superintendent, and adult Sunday school teacher. He sang with the Emma men’s chorus for over 25 years and participated in mission trips to Jamaica, Kentucky, Michigan, and Arizona.
Although unable to attend church services in person for a number of months, he enjoyed listening to the livestream version. Merv was the owner of Hostetler Construction Co. and was employed by Farver Lumber Co., Shipshewana and Hostetler Home Improvement (HHI), Goshen. He served on the first building Trades Board of Westview High School. He was a horseman and breeder, who developed Hostline Stables. He was a member and past president of the International Trotting and Pacing Association, Midwestern Big Four, Indiana Ohio Michigan Illinois Association, and the LaGrange Trottingbred Association. Merv was inducted into the Midwestern Big Four Hall of Fame in 1988. He received the ITPA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2000, and the Midwestern Big Four Harry Cross Sportsmanship Award 2007. Needing to keep his hands and mind busy, later in life he taught himself to crochet. He created colorful, functional crochetworks for friends, family, and charitable organizations. Merv loved his family and music and often woke with a song to start the day.
Survivors in addition to his wife are three daughters, Sharee (Frank) Hartman of New Paris, Lynnell (Jim) Eash of Bronson, MI, Diantha Hostetler of Goshen; two sons, Bradley (Cynthia) Hostetler of Shipshewana, Todd (Lou Anne) Hostetler of Goshen; daughter-in-law, Teri Hostetler of Pompano Beach, FL; 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; two sister-in-laws, Jane Hostetler of Coatsville, Randy Hostetler of Indianapolis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, infant son, Jeffrey Lee Hostetler and Gregory Alan Hostetler; grandson, Chad Hartman; three sisters, Dorothy Hostetler, Marie Hostetler, and Betty Kauffman; six brothers, Maurice, Merril, Meredith, Melvin, Mark, and Manford Hostetler.
Visitation will be from 2:00 - 7:00 pm on Tuesday November 15 at Emma Church, 1900 South 600 West, Topeka. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the 10:00 am funeral services on Wednesday November 16, also at Emma Church. Services will be conducted by Pastor Gene Hartman. Hostetler, Sheryl Ann
September 2, 1958 - January 18, 2022
It is with great sadness that the family of Sheryl Ann Hostetler announces her sudden passing on January 18, 2022, in Manta, Ecuador. She was 63.
Sheryl is survived by her daughter Ginger Hostetler, Manta, Ecuador; granddaughter, Sheryl Hostetler, Manta, Ecuador; brother David (Pat) Hostetler, Terre Haute, IN; sister Ruth (Alan) Sharpe, Saskatoon, Canada; sister Phyllis (LoWayne) Yoder, Sturgis, MI; and sister Danell Hostetler, Goshen, IN. Sheryl is also survived by a multitude of people in Ecuador who adored her and considered her to be family. Sheryl was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Hostetler (2010), and mother, Mary Ann Hostetler (2021).
Sheryl was born in Kokomo, IN on September 2, 1958. She graduated from Northwestern High School, Parkview Methodist School of Nursing and Texas Christian University. Sheryl served as a school nurse at Goshen High School, taught Spanish at Indiana University, and served as a nurse with Dr. Shelly of Goshen Physicians.
Sheryl devoted over 24 years of her life to the people of Ecuador. She co-founded and ran a prenatal clinic for at-risk mothers in 20 de Mayo, a suburb of Manta, a ministry that is now a thriving medical facility. Sheryl later pioneered a work in Manta to reach at-risk street youth and orphans, and was instrumental in building the Shekinah Foundation. She also helped plant a Mennonite church in Manta.
Sheryl’s compassion reached more than 550 orphans in the 22 years that she served at the Shekinah Foundation. Colleagues and those who knew her described Sheryl as “the best friend I ever had,” “a true servant of Christ,” “sweet and godly,” “a total inspiration,” and someone who trusted the Lord through sunshine and rain. Sheryl is remembered for her amazing granola, her servant heart, and her noiseless laugh.
Please continue to remember Ginger and Sheryl as they cope with the loss of their mother and grandmother. And continue to pray for the people of Ecuador.

Hostetler, Trevor Jordan
July 3, 2013 - April 16, 2022
Trevor Jordan Hostetler, beloved son of Jeremy and Sadie Hostetler of Green Forest, AR, was born July 30, 2013, at Springfield, MO. He went to be with Jesus on the evening of April 16, 2022, at the age of 8 years, 8 months, and 17 days. He collapsed unexpectedly while riding bike with some of his brothers. First Responders and Paramedics worked on him at the scene before flying him to Children's hospital in Springdale. All was done that was humanly possible, but God saw best to take him Home.
Trevor had an episode at school about a month ago where he thought he couldn't breathe and his chest hurt. They took him to the Dr. to get it checked out and were in the process of doing genetic testing to check for a heart condition.
He leaves to mourn his departure, his parents, 5 brothers; Garrett 14, Jaxon 12, Braden 10, Bryson 6, Wynston 3. Paternal grandparents Dannie and Wilma Hostetler, Maternal grandparents Clifford and Eunice Hostetler, 9 uncles, 5 aunts, and 49 cousins.
He was preceded in death by his Great Grandparents, 2 infant aunts Melissa and Angel Rose, 6 cousins; Kensie, Kaleb, and Zion, Treasure Rose, Kristi, and Nevin.
Although our hearts are bleeding, we humbly say "Thy Will Be Done."
Trevor was a fun-loving lad with sparkling eyes and a cheerful disposition. He loved to sing and often sang spontaneously. He enjoyed playing with his brothers, cousins, and schoolmates. His brothers will keenly miss his presence in their many activities around the farm.
The family wishes to express a heartfelt thanks to everyone for their prayers, presence, help, food, and sympathy during this difficult time. A special thank you to the first responders, paramedics, and everyone involved.

Hostetter, Evelyn D. Neff
July 27, 1937 - January 19, 2022
Evelyn D. (Neff) Hostetter, 84, passed peacefully on January 19, 2022 to be with her Lord, in the presence of her family at Garden Spot Village, New Holland. She was married to the love of her life, G. Hershey Hostetter, for 64 years.
Evelyn’s lovely smile and compassionate heart will be missed by all. Hershey and Evie raised their family together on their dairy farm on Millwood Road in Gap. She loved to garden, to preserve all the produce, and often could be heard singing gospel songs while she worked. She was a master of Pennsylvania Dutch cooking and especially enjoyed baking. Her delicious sour cream cookies were always a treat and all her grandchildren loved them. Evie took great joy in faithfully taking photos to record just about every occasion and then some! In retirement years she enjoyed volunteering at Country Gift and Thrift and visiting with the elderly. She was a member of Meadville Mennonite Church in addition to Old Road Mennonite Church.
Born in West Lampeter Township, PA, Evelyn was the daughter of the late Harry K. & Katie D. Neff of Strasburg. She is preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters and one grandson. She has one surviving sister, Marian Martin of New Holland.
In addition to her husband, she will be deeply missed by her five children, Edwin (Susan) of Chicago, IL; Galen of Grand Rapids, MI; Kathy (Rick) of Pleasant Hill, OR; Marilyn of Franklin, TN; and Kevin (Nicole) of Conestoga, PA. Evelyn had 16 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.
The family would like to thank the staff of Fall Crest at Garden Spot Village for their kind and loving care for Evelyn during her years of dealing with Parkinson’s Disease. Due to Evelyn donating her body for medical research the memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Garden Spot Village Benevolent Fund or MCC (Mennonite Central Committee).
Hostetter, Jeanette Mae
February 14, 1932 - January 30, 222
Jeanette Mae Hostetter, 89, passed away peacefully and went to be with her Lord & Savior on Sunday January 30th 2022 in St. Anthony, Newfoundland. Born in Salisbury Twp. Lancaster County on February 14th, 1932 she was the daughter of David & Minnie Hostetter.
Jeanette graduated from Lancaster Mennonite High School, she then attended Lancaster General School of Nursing. Upon graduation she moved to St. Anthony in 1957 and worked for the International Grenfell Association. She later worked at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital.
Jeanette was a member of Hershey Mennonite Church while here in Pennsylvania. She was active member of the United Church in Newfoundland. Jeanette served on the Ladies Auxiliary supporting the Hospital Foundation.
After her retirement Jeanette opened a Bed & Breakfast where she made many friends. She loved to travel the world, knitting, reading and serving in her community.
She will be deeply missed by her nephew, Stephen Hostetter (Dee Hostetter), niece Sharon Fox (Tony Fox), her great-nephews and nieces, many friends, her church family, & many dear friends in Newfoundland.
The family will hold a private graveside service at Hershey Mennonite Church at a later date.
Huber, Earl Eshleman
September 10, 1928 - May 21, 2022
Earl Eshleman Huber, 93, of Conestoga, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 21, 2022. He was the loving husband of Charlotte (Longenecker) with whom he celebrated 72 years of marriage and with whom he raised five children on their farm. Earl was born on a farm north of Lititz, PA to the late Elmer Stoner Huber and Elizabeth Eshleman Huber.
As a 17-year-old, in January 1946, he took a ten-week Atlantic Ocean voyage as a Seagoing Cowboy with what would become the Heifer Project International program.
On January 7, 1950, Earl married Charlotte Longenecker. As newlyweds, they went to the Milton Hershey School for Boys, as house parents. While Earl was there, he planted check row corn with a pair of mules and a two-row corn planter. One of the fields he farmed with mules is now the site of the Derry Township High School.
In 1953, Earl was employed at Paul Wenger's dairy farm at Quarryville, where he worked for seven years. In 1959, he bought his farm at Conestoga. He enjoyed managing and working on his dairy farm, milking Holstein cows, operating farm machinery, and driving John Deere tractors. He planted corn for 75 years of his life. He was involved with milking cows for 70 years, first by hand at his grandparent's farm at 6 years of age and until he retired from dairy farming at the age of 76. He milked cows on his Conestoga farm from 1960 through 2005, during the golden age of mid-sized dairy farms.
Earl was a longtime member of Lampeter Church of the Brethren, the Holstein Association and also a dedicated Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan. Earl was a supporter of Sandy Cove Ministries of Northeast, MD. Most of all he cherished spending time and sharing stories with his family.
In addition to his wife Charlotte, Earl is survived by his sons: Ted Huber of Conestoga and Wayne Huber, husband of Brenda (Sensenig) of Lancaster; daughters: Barbara Zmolek wife of Randy of York, Karen Feister wife of Craig of Columbia and Lorraine Rohrer wife of G. Timothy of Mount Joy; 12 grandchildren: Andrew Zmolek, Sarah Zmolek, David Feister (Ashley), Ryan Feister (Jenn), Steven Feister (Erin), Adam Rohrer (Christi), Olivia Hull (Carter), Noah Rohrer, Ahna Collins (Shaun), Shayne Huber (Ashley), Ben Huber (Elizabeth) and Clara Huber; 7 great-grandchildren; a brother, Elmer Huber of Manheim and a sister, Erma Witmer of Mount Joy as well as many nieces and nephews. Earl was predeceased by sisters, Luella Myers, Pauline Good, Mildred Pickel, and brothers, Mark and Galen Huber, all of Manheim.
He was a wonderful and loving husband and dad. We remember working with our dad and the fellowship we had with him. He was a wonderful example, influence and provider for his family.
A viewing will be held at the Lampeter Church of the Brethren, 1900 Lampeter Road, Lancaster, PA 17602 on Friday, May 27, 2022, from 6:30-8:30 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, May 28, 2022, also at the church. Friends and family will be received from 9 AM until the time of service. Interment will be held at Longenecker Cemetery, Lititz, PA after a luncheon at the church.

Huber, Floyd B.
February 28, 1968 - June 27, 2022
Floyd B. Huber, 54, of Denver, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family after a valiant fight with brain cancer on Monday, June 27, 2022. He is survived by his wife, G. Elaine (Zeiset) Huber. They had celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary on May 2. Born in Ephrata, he was the son of Ivan and Fern (Gerhart) Huber of East Earl.
Floyd was last employed as a truck driver for Pellman Foods. He was a member of Weaverland Anabaptist Faith Community. His interests included spending time with his grandchildren, motorcycling, gardening, and outdoor activities, especially hunting.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by four children: Adrianne married to Andrew Stutzman, Columbia, Anthony married to Kelly Huber, Bowmansville, Justine married to Justin Weaver, Terre Hill, Courtney married to Kyle Hurst, Terre Hill, four grandchildren: Ava, Ria, Sifra, and Elias, and four siblings: Delvin married to Janetta Huber, Fivepointville, Greg married to Juanita Huber, Gap, Linda married to Lamar Buckwalter, Leola, and Louise married to Earl Good, Farmersville.
Burial will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 1, 2022, in Weaverland Mennonite Cemetery. His funeral will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Weaverland Anabaptist Faith Community, 210 Weaverland Valley Rd., East Earl. Viewings will be held at the church on Thursday from 4 8 p.m. and on Friday from 1 2 p.m. The Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill, is in charge of arrangements.
Hug, Lyman Joseph, Jr.
May 27, 1948 - July 24, 2022
Lyman Joseph Hug, Jr., 74, of Goshen, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2022, at Goshen Hospital surrounded by his family.
He was born May 27, 1948 in Sturgis, Michigan to Lyman Joseph Sr. and Irene May (Meade) Hug.
On June 2, 1990 he married Sherry Ann Strong in Goshen, Indiana.
She survives along with three daughters, Elizabeth (Douglas II) Clark of Sturgis, Michigan, Kimberly (Tracy) Gilbert of Waterboro, Maine and Kristene (Mark) Miller of New Castle: two step-daughters, Kimberly (Chet) Menczynski of Goshen and Lisa (Max) Reyes of Elkhart; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a sister, Joan Beers of Sturgis, Michigan.
Lyman was the owner and operator of ShutterHugs Custom Framing in Goshen until his retirement in 2014. He loved spending time with his family, often taking his grandchildren camping, to the zoo or just out for a movie. He and his wife, Sherry, shared a love of photography, particularly birds and nature photos. He often attended area air shows where he loved to capture action photos. His creativity and talent were demonstrated through his photography and his hobby in woodworking. Lyman engaged with people wherever he went. He was well known for his sense of humor and caring nature.
The family will receive visitors on Thursday, July 28, 2022, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder Culp Funeral Home. There will be an additional visitation at the same location on Friday, July 29, at 9 a.m. immediately followed by a funeral service at 10.

Hursh, Joanna F.
May 3, 1969 - May 8, 2022
Joanna F. Hursh age 53, of Curtiss, WI passed away peacefully on Sunday May 8, 2022, at the home of Joseph & Esther Mast with family close by, 13 months after being diagnosed with cancer.
Visitation/Viewing hours are Thursday, May 1202 from 2-4:00 pm & 6-8:00 pm at the Athens Mennonite Church and the funeral service will be on Friday May 13, 022 at 10:00 am also at the Athens Mennonite Church with burial at the church cemetery. Officiating will be Paul Miller, Clair Weaver, Jalon Horst and Enos Martin. Serving as pallbearers will be Joseph Hursh, Noah Hursh, David Hursh, Lowell Miller, Daniel Burkholder and Joseph Mast.
The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford is assisting the family with arrangements.
Joanna was born on May 3, 1969 to Joseph K & Mary L (Fox) Hursh at Denver PA. She completed her formal education at the Unity Mennonite School, Unity, WI.
Joanna taught school for a few years, and then spent a number of years serving as a foster care provider. She adopted her daughter and then poured her energies into raising her daughter while teaching special ed students and writing books over the last number of years. She will be greatly missed, especially by her daughter Cynthia as well as the rest of her siblings, parents and others her life touched.
She is survived by her daughter Cynthia Hursh, parents Joseph & Mary Hursh of Greenwood WI, siblings Mary Hursh, Ephrata PA, Joseph (Joanna) Hursh, Keota OK, (Joseph) Esther Mast, Abbotsford WI, Ruth Hursh, Ephrata PA, Noah (Faith) Hursh, Stanley WI, (Sheldon) Eunice Zimmerman, Owen WI, David (Esther) Hursh, Greenwood WI, (Paul) Rebekah Zimmerman, Loyal WI, 28 nieces & 6 nephew
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Joseph & Leah Hursh and Martin & Suie Fox.

Lester M. Hursh, 80, of Lincoln Christian Home, formerly of Mount Joy, PA passed away January 7, 2022 of natural causes.
Born February 19, 1941 to Eli H. and Sadie M. Hursh, Lester was the husband of Arlene M. (Sensenig) Hursh, who preceded him in death in 2018. He was a member of the Rheems Mennonite Church.
Lester is survived by 5 sons: Lamar, husband of Beulah (Horning) of Millerstown, Leonard, husband of Anna (Harder) of Mount Joy, Wilmer, husband of Arla (Kropf) of Corvalis, MT, Wayne, husband of Connie (Weaver) of Krivishiyentsi, Ukraine, and Eugene, husband of Janette (Birky) of Harrisburg, OR; four daughters: Janet, wife of Gerald Champ of Scurry, TX, Joann (Detweiler) wife of Stephen Bauman of Manheim, Jolene, wife of Douglas Martin of Columbia, and Judy, wife of Barry Strite of Iuka, IL; and a son-in-law, Jay Deiter of Mifflintown; 54 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and three siblings: Ivan, husband of Marian of Ephrata, Elvin, husband of Marian of Lititz, Marian, wife of Dale Seibel of Hopewell, and a sister-in-law, Elsie Hursh of Ephrata.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Joyce Deiter: one son-in-law, Gerald Detweiler; one grandson, Joseph Champ; and one great-grandson; one brother, Mervin; and two sisters, Louella and Eva Jane.
A viewing will be held at Rheems Mennonite Church, 1435 Schwanger Road, Mount Joy on Thursday, January 13, 2022 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Hurst, Ariana Hope
July 1, 2019 - January 17, 2022
Ariana Hope Hurst, 2, of Pleasant Mount, PA entered into eternal rest on January 17, 2022, held in her mother’s loving arms, at the Nemours Alfred I. DuPont Hospital in Wilmington, DE. She was born July 1, 2019, to Joel A. and Beulah M. (Martin) Hurst of Pleasant Mount, PA.
Ariana was born with Pretzel Syndrome, a genetic disorder. Though she never said a word or took a step, she leaves a deep imprint on the lives of her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by one sister, Shana; five brothers, Tristan, Austin, Sydney, Roger, and Victor, all of Pleasant Mount; grandparents, Isaac S. & Carolyn Z. (Eberly) Hurst, of Akron, PA, and Nora M. (Martin) Martin, of Ickesburg, PA; and many uncles, aunts, and cousins. She was preceded in death by a grandfather, Carl R. Martin.
Both the viewing and funeral will be held at the Riverdale Mennonite Church, 15 Riverdale Road, Pleasant Mount, (Forest City) PA 18421. The viewing will be on Friday, January 21, 2022, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM. The funeral will be on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
